In the programming of their own environmental policies, the City Council initiated the project "Solar City Portsmouth."
The project consists of a series of actions that aim to improve the overall quality of life in our city, including through:
- a reduction in primary consumption;
- encouraging the use of renewable energy;
- improving energy efficiency of the plant.
To identify practical nature and consistency of possible interventions in the energy field, how the technical and operational implementation, the planned schedule of activities, the Municipality has developed an action plan to improve municipal energy efficiency and use of renewable sources in the urban context ".
The purpose of this document is to provide assistance for real estate municipal energy planning pursuing the choice of the wider use of indigenous renewable energy sources, improving energy efficiency in building and participatory process to involve mostly the actors local associations, public administrators and professionals, and citizens.
