Lina Bo Bardi: THE MASP

are the 'architect Robert J. Stener, an Italian citizen: My great grandfather arrived in Montevideo in 1898 with his wife Antonia to work the land. I begin this conversation with the Museum of Architecture Art of Sao Paulo 1957 - 1968 (the MASP) 's Arch Lina Bo Bardi, born in Rome in 1951, graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the' University of Rome.

This beautiful building is truly a postcard of the city, and the best way to know and let us walk by taking our time, and perhaps understand how it fits perfectly in the landscape. There is hanging in the air of two red arcades, but structurally they are not talking about two porches: four great pillars on which four support beams. The various panels of the roof support beams on both coverage and there are also two other beams which relies on another plate, and even these roof beams is a second concrete slab.

have to walk to the level of 'Av.Paulista to see the city, this is the Belvedere, which is the meeting point for citizens. If we go up the stairs get to the first floor where there are art exhibitions and there 's administration. Higher still reach the second floor where there is a picture gallery. Belvedere we go down the ladder and get to the first underground where there is a theater, an auditorium and more exposure, here we can get a double-wide ramp and reach the second ground: it is the Town Hall where there are the restaurant, the library and a body of 'water.

The purpose of
Lina: "What needs to be a museum? A mound of famous mummies? A deposit of human works ... already obsolete to be administered with a sense of pity? New museums have opened their doors to ' clean air, the new light. It is in this social sense that is specifically geared towards the MASP mass uninformed, non-intellectual: the end of the museum is to form a 'to create atmosphere in the visitors to understand the mindset adatatta' Art, in this sense does not make any distinction between ancient and modern art. " So this is his crusade: "how to learn to live the 'art, to understand it."
